Etchings Press Books

At Etchings Press, students engage with writers from the campus community and across the world. Courses in publishing teach UIndy students how to be successful publishing books and a literary and fine arts magazine, as well as conferring literary prizes, hosting a podcast and events, promoting the excellent products they create, and networking with other writers, artists, composers, and publishers.

The University of Indianapolis’ teaching press and publishing laboratory offers students exciting hands-on opportunities that prepare them for careers in publishing, marketing, and writing.

Winter term, Etchings Press welcomes submissions for its annual contests: a chapbook of poetry, a chapbook of prose, and a novella. Student editors select the winners, then produce and promote the winning books.

The Floodgate Poetry Series: Three Chapbooks by Three Poets in a Single Volume, edited by poet Andrew McFadyen-Ketchum, uniquely showcases the work of various poets via the chapbook. In bringing together collections by three poets in various stages of their careers and work, the Floodgate Poetry Series celebrates the broad range of poetry being written today.
